State Formation Portals
Use this to go straight to your state's official portal to form an LLC, corporation, or other entity.
Use this if your state has a special portal link you prefer. Blughprints will remember it on this device.
Core Federal Requirements
These are the federal registrations almost every U.S. business should complete. They apply in all 50 states.
Do these alongside your state filing so your bank, accountant, and lenders see a complete "real" business file.
NAICS & Required Forms
Advanced Formation (Later / Scaling)
You usually don't need these on day one. They become important when you expand, fix filings, or operate in multiple states.
- Foreign qualification: when your business is formed in one state but is doing real business (office, employees, jobs) in another. File through that state's portal using the Open Portal button.
- Reinstatement / revival: if you miss annual reports or taxes and the state marks you inactive. Use your state portal to file reinstatement and pay any back fees.
- Amendments: when you change the business name, owners, or structure. Look for "Articles of Amendment" or similar on the portal.
- Registered agent / address changes: to keep your agent and mailing address current so you never miss legal notices.
- DBA / assumed names: if you want to operate under a different brand name than your legal entity name.

Tip: When you submit applications, use the Formation and Renovation CAD tabs to supply matching legal names, addresses, square footage, and layout diagrams. Keeping these consistent will prevent a lot of delays.

How applying works (quick)
- Broker path: you provide your EIN + employee list, the broker shops carriers, then submits enrollment.
- SHOP path: enroll through Healthcare.gov (or your state exchange) for small business plans.
- HRA path (QSEHRA/ICHRA): you set a reimbursement budget, employees choose their own plan, you reimburse via an admin platform.
- PEO path: you join a PEO for bundled payroll/HR/benefits; employees enroll in their plans.
